Why Musical Desserts
|
Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of singing and playing my guitar at private dinner parties in and around the GTA. Usually after dinner, the host and hostess invite their guests to retire to the family room for dessert, coffee and to enjoy some live acoustic music. |

With this in mind, I wanted to recreate a similar atmosphere in somewhat of a concert setting. My goal with Musical Desserts is to offer the comfort, warmth and intimacy of being in a cozy living/family room but in a concert setting with the added enjoyment of a good cup of coffee and tasty desserts. Temperance Hall, at the Sharon Temple, provided the perfect setting. We set the room up with 10 round tables of 8. This allows for friends and neighbours to come as a group and sit together if they like. With seating for 80, hardwood floors and a vaulted ceiling, the room provides a very relaxed and comfortable feel. I like to think the linen table clothes and china offer a touch of elegance. All of this combined with a live concert completes an evening that I hope you will find warm, intimate and entertaining. John |
